In this episode we look at iPhoto 08 and iMovie 08 two of the main applications from Apple's new iLife suite. There are some great new features such feature rich web galleries to show off your photos and videos, a rewritten iMovie application which makes creating video and uploading to youtube a breeze and of course there is 'skimming' which you really need to see to appreciate.

In this 15 minute video, Joe introduces you to iUI and how you can use it to create great-looking iPhone apps quick.

Lars Knoll and George Staikos: "From KHTML to Webkit"

Lars Knoll and George Staikos from the KHTML project visited Yahoo! to give a talk on the history of KHTML and Konqueror and the connection between those projects and Apple’s open-source WebKit (which was built upon KHTML and announced in January of 2003 as the foundation of Apple’s Safari browser). MacFUSE Tech Demos from Amit Singh's Macworld 2007 Talk

In this a video, Amit Singh (mac developer in Google) demonstrates MacFUSE - MacOS X port of FUSE technology, that allows developers to quickly implement their own filesystems in user-space. The most exciting plugins for most Mac users are the sshfs and ntfs. Other exciting possibilities of MacFUSE are:

ProcFS (process filesystem, which lets you get information about processes just by navigating a file hierarchy),
rssfs (for browsing RSS feeds),
SpotlightFS (instantly perform Spotlight queries simply by inputing your query as a directory),
DocsFS (for browsing your Google documents and speadsheets),
and even PicasaFS (for browsing and manipulating your Picaca Web albums).

Zero Configuration networking with Bonjour

Google TechTalks November 2, 2005 Dr. Stuart Cheshire, Apple Computer http://www.stuartcheshire.org/ ABSTRACT The desirability of making IP networking easy to use has been obvious for many years, but achieving that goal has proved elusive. One day, Stuart Cheshire got tired of fellow Stanford Computer Science PhD students wanting to print from his Mac (via AppleTalk) because they couldn't work out how to configure their Linux /etc/printcap files to access the network printer they wanted to use via IP, and he decided it was time someone did something about it. Thus began a long saga, beginning with the formation of the IETF "Zero Configuration Networking" working group, and ending where we are today, with widespread adoption of Stuart Cheshire's Multicast DNS and DNS Service Discovery technology, or "Bonjour", as Apple likes to call it. Today just about every network printer from just about every printer vendor supports Bonjour, and ships with it enabled by default.
