Best phone at CES: Motorola's new Backflip phone offers a unique twist on the cellphone.

It's a keyboard/full screen Android-based phone that folds in and out lengthwise. But instead of folding the keyboard on top of the screen like a traditional clamshell, the Backflip folds so the keyboard and the screen both stay on the outside!

Why do that? Well first, it lets the phone operate as a full-screen slate. And you can bend it forward half way to turn it into a stand-up media player, digital clock or photo frame. It also includes an amazingly innovative touch pad on the BACK of the screen, which lets you control the screen by touching the back of it.

No word on price or carrier, but it is a GSM phone, so it’ll be available on either AT&T or T-Mobile. Great phone, I can’t wait to use one.

It’s a brave new car, with digital screens on the dashboard and around the speedometer, plus LCD mood lighting and twitter integration.

Ford introduced its updated SYNC interface, showing off a completely customizable dashboard, along with an open API that will allow other internet applications to easily plug into its upcoming lineup.

They also showed off web applications streaming to the new Taurus SHO, including Pandora radio, Stitcher, and even twitter – twitter integration will include a text to speech converter – imagine listening to tweets while you drive. All this, sent to the car via your iPhone, ‘Droid or other Google Phone, or Blackberry. Radio is so dead.

Lenovo releases the S10-3t, a convertible netbook that swivels to become either a tablet or a laptop

The new gadget runs Windows 7 and twists to turn into a tablet, or a clamshell laptop. Built around Intel's brand new Atom N470, it has enough power to run videos and most mainstream programs. And with the first multi-touch capacative screen on the Windows platform, it's a great touch computer as well. You can pick it up for $4500, when it ships later in January.
