Joe Hewitt, Welcome to Firebug 1.0

Firebug 1.0 hit the wires at Mozilla on Wednesday night and Firebug’s author Joe Hewitt of Parakey Inc. stopped by Yahoo! Thursday to debut the new features. Joe was kind enough to let us record his talk, and we’re pleased to share that with you in the YUI Theater.

Hacking Digg With Firebug and jQuery

This is an adaptation of a presentation that John Resig gave while at Mashup Camp Boston. We’re going to take an introductory look at the Firebug Firefox Extension and the jQuery JavaScript Library - combining the two to build a reusable bookmarklet that can manipulate Digg Posts and Comments.

Firebug 1.0 Beta Screencast

Just a few days ago Firebug 1.0 Beta was released, with loads and loads of new features. Roger Johansson calls it the web developer tool of the year:

With the recent release of Firebug 1.0 (beta – the old kind of beta, not a Web 2.0 eternal beta), this extension went from “great” to absolutely marvelous. A must have that no Web developer should do without. I’m serious – you need Firebug.

And, at last, couple days ago Firebug 1.0 Beta Screencast was released by Jesse Newland.

Joe Hewitt — "Firebug"

Joe Hewitt is a Mozilla developer who has written software dear to the heart of all web developers, including the original Mozilla DOM Inspector. Joe's newest Mozilla tool is Firebug, an integral logging and debugging tool that sets a new standard for its category. Joe introduced Firebug to a standing-room-only crowd of developers on May 25, 2006.
