ThemeForest has a nice feature; It allows the authors to upload zip files containing screenshots of their themes. A script then extracts these files and displays the images accordingly. Though I doubt that the developers used PHP to accomplish this task...that's what we're going to use!

Everything is changing. This weekend, I read a very interesting book: "Everything You Know About CSS is Wrong". The book illustrates how, now that IE has passed the ACID 2 test, we can finally begin to build our websites the proper ways. Up until now, we've been forced to implement hacks to form the perfect layout - absolute positioning, precarious floats, etc. But that's all beginning to change! I'll show you how in twenty minutes.

Let's imagine that you want to build a page that will display snapshots of your latest work. One way to do this would be to hard-code the images into your document. The obvious repercussion is that, every time you want to add a new item, you must manually update your html document. Another method would be to store and retrieve the information from a MYSQL database. This will function perfectly, though for many sites, this solution may possibly offer far more power than is technically needed - not to mention the increase in hosting costs.
