How To Plan Projects With Distributed Teams

Google Tech Talks
April 3, 2007

Hubert Smits will give a hands-on overview of the activities that are involved in larger agile projects. Larger projects stretch out over more then a few months and have more then a single team involved. Things get more complex when the teams are not collocated. Hubert has based the talk on his paper "Multi Level Planning for Agile Projects" and presents a practical implementation of the planning levels. The experience he uses in the presentation is taken from his work as an agile coach for Rally Software Development, which brings him to projects with teams scattered across the globe: the US, Europe, Middle East and Far East.

Read more about this video…

Want to control this feed contents? Sign up here and create your own feed!

Want more on these topics?
Browse the archive of posts filed under Conferences, Companies, Development, Broadcasting, Practices, Techtalks, Google, Lectures, XP, Scrum
ABSTRACT

Branching and merging in the face of agile development, extreme programming, team collaboration, and parallel releases. Find out why branching and merging needn't be any more complicated than driving a car.
Read more about this video…

Want to control this feed contents? Sign up here and create your own feed!

Want more on these topics?
Browse the archive of posts filed under Conferences, Companies, Development, Broadcasting, Practices, Techtalks, Google, Lectures, XP, Scrum

Google Tech Talks
December 7, 2006

ABSTRACT

Adwords introduced a Scrum implementation at Google in small steps with remarkable success. As presented at the Agile 2006 conference this exemplifies a great way to start up Scrum teams. The inventor and Co-Creator of Scrum will use this approach in building the Google Scrum implementation to describe some of the subtle aspects of Scrum along with suggested next steps that can help in distributing and scaling Scrum in a "Googly way".
Read more about this video…

Want to control this feed contents? Sign up here and create your own feed!

Want more on these topics?
Browse the archive of posts filed under Conferences, Companies, Broadcasting, Business, Practices, Techtalks, Google, Lectures, Scrum

Agile Testing

Google Tech Talks December 9, 2005

Elisabeth Hendrickson

ABSTRACT As more teams are adopting Agile practices such as XP and Scrum, software testing teams are being asked to become "Agile" as well. But what does that mean? Is the Agile label yet another buzzword? Or could it be Agile practices are actually changing the way software is built? In this talk Elisabeth Hendrickson shares her perspective on how test teams can be more Agile based on her experiences working as a tester on Agile teams. Along the way, she'll provide an overview of how Agile practices differ from traditional practices and discuss what those differences mean for independent test teams.
Read more about this video…

Want to control this feed contents? Sign up here and create your own feed!

Want more on these topics?
Browse the archive of posts filed under Conferences, Companies, Business, Practices, Techtalks, Google, XP, Scrum
